Last night Harry had just let the dogs in when he noticed something, and after looking spotted this young praying mantis on the edge of the porch step, by the time he showed me, and I grabbed the camera, this little guy was climbing up our lawn chair. I was amazed how fast he moved, and Harry saw him leap in the air after a moth, but he missed

. I still had the 13mm macro extension tube attached to the 40D and 70-200mm f 4/L lens, and used the flash to get this shot. I was thrilled to see one of these hard to spot creatures, they rank at the top of my favorites list alongside dragonflies. I had not seen one for several years, so this was a real treat.

I have one more I can share, before he finally had enough of me and literally jumped off the chair into the darkness.

Thank you for commenting. Tigs♥ =^..^=

These guys must be the prototypes for the heads of aliens that they use in movies and tell us are real. Nice detail on the parts that matter, Tigs. Haven't seen these guys around here though some hoppers have been by. lol

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
