A Hummingbird Moth heading for that flower, not the best, but I was pleased to get some decent shots of him, they are very quick!

I used the canon 40D, with the canon 70-300 IS USM lens, and cropped the image, and ran it through topaz lens effects.

The day I took this one, I kept seeing these unique creatures, and a pair of hummingbirds, I was thrilled.

Thanks for commenting.

It's curled tongue is already prepared for action.
With respect of the timing, it's a rather difficult shot, Sandi, but the result is great!

Regards, Cornelius.

Looks like a hovering helicopter Sandi - Very good capture of the moth headed for the flowers. Nice colours and a background that shows off the moth and flowers very well.

Outstanding action shot, Sandi. Those wings must really move very fast, but the detail on the Hummingbird Moth is magnificent. Nice camera work.
