My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
It is a nice shot, indeed, would agree with Lyn above.
Composition is strong.
Colour is good good (natural). As are the colour contrasts within frame, between that of the grasshopper/bokeh/background and the flower itself. Vivid and eye catching.
Caveats?
Personally, I would not have employed a border/frame with this close of a crop.
And it's not the framing itself, which does look clean and professional.
It's the perceived visual weight of the area of the border/outer edge of frame and that of your subject matter (grasshopper/flower). Ends up competing to a degree for your viewer's attention.
You handled the technical side of things well, and your post processing/editing is good good. Loads of detail to see right down to the grasshopper's eye(s).
Great timing, great shot.
And..
But of course, thank you for sharing this one with us. :o)
Outstanding shot, Sandi and one that is not easy to get . The colors , the focus and the composition are top notch. Personally I like the framing . Excellent post !
The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
Excellent detail on the hopper & it contrasts so nicely with the flower bud. The DOF is perfect & I like your choice in framing. Very nicely done, Sandi.
An outstanding macro. Great color, composition and sharpness. Flawless image. What a sincere pleasure this photo and many others of yours are to see. You are very talented indeed. :)Ewa
