These birds are very quick, was able to get some shots today with the canon 40D using the sports mode, and the canon 70-300 IS USM lens, and shot this through the window.

He/she would take a bite, and then stand up and stretch as you see here.

Gave it a bit of topaz adjust 5 for the final editing.

Thank you for the views, and comments.

Sorry about the ugly weathered feeder. It is kind of warped, and I did manage to get my other half to knock off the front side so I would not get cut off feet anymore when I shoot. :)

Exceptional lighting here, Sandi. It really brings out the details in the feathers. Super colors, too.

This is a great shot, Sandi. Great color and detail. I can't tell it is through the screen.
But know what it's like to shoot them that way. lol

I've had several Blue Jays visit my feeders in the past week & I think I've only been able to pull off one shot. Love the subtle lighting on the Blue Jay & the detail is wonderful. Beautiful work, Sandi.

The important thing is that the clientele don't seem to mind the decor so long as the food is good. Calling these birds 'quick' is putting it mildly. A great capture of the jay. Wonderful colours and details in the photo.

Wonderful view, the pose says it's a very proud bird. Or is it thinking? LOL
