Cat camp tiger_ Since I spent the afternoon with the big cats at EFRC I changed Saturday to Caturday. :)
This tiger is one of 230 big cats that have a safe home here. On the regular tour that takes about 1 1/2 you see about 100. You can do an overnight stay that is so darn cool, I did it once. You see all of the big cats, and get to watch how they are fed, and enclosures cleaned.
These beautiful cats are here because of human stupidity. No breeding, or selling is done here, just a cat haven for these big cats, that all have a story behind them.
Shot through fencing using the canon 40D with the canon 70-300 IS USM lens, and lucky for us the weather was beautiful.

Beautiful beautiful tiger... And so many of them that need sanctuary. It makes me feel sad, especially since all of the big cats who are free are also highly endangered... Wonderful picture of this one, it looks like he has seen some difficult times.

The coloring and contrasts always fascinate me about these cats. They are so beautiful. They would be perfect for blending in to your surroundings in the bush. You would not be able to catch a glimpse until it was too late if it were in its wild habitat. Sandi you captured a great mood for this cat.

It is always human stupidity that causes problems for our creatures. They are all God's creatures and we should respect them . I quite frankly think it should be against the law for a private person to own an exotic animal . Excellent post!
