I spotted this tree along the lake shoreline, and even though bare, I thought it was beautiful.

I tried several versions of this one, and ended up with this one.

Thank you for commenting, have a nice day.

We could be getting some of those severe storms that hit west of here later today, but I do hope their wrong.

The starkness of the tree really is beautiful against that blue sky! Wonderful and superb capture Sandi!!!

It's the dominant but barren tree against the heavily treed far shore that does it for me. Great perspective, Sandi.

Bare trees always do it for me. You did a great job. When I was young we had a huge oak tree with limbs that reached out that seem to want to grab me from my second story bedroom window of which promptly I ducked under the covers. I was six years old then. I still have some vivid memories though. How about you?

Great shot of the park bench, Tigs, but that tree really throws off the composition. :-)

I agree with Frank. For some reason I prefer the drama of bare trees. I imagine you did this, but I would have shot the tree from every available angle and tried one in the B/W contest. For me, this one's a solid 8.5. The far shore really adds depth to the shot as well.

I must state that I have never been a fan of the bare tree. There are always up to something. There are either getting ready to bud new leaves and thus in the future become great hiding spots for the dreaded chipmunks that haunt and terrorize my very existence. Or they are old, decrepit and just waiting for you to turn your back and drop limbs on you if not just outright fall and squish you when you least expect it. I'm sure the chipmunks are involved somehow but I just haven't proved it yet.

On the other hand I can't fault you for the bench. Good composition of the scene and great lighting and colours in the photo. Nicely done Sandi.
