This day was a lovely autumn day, a cool morning, turning into a lovely mild -temperature day.

I have not taken any sunrise or sunset captures in along time. This day I was compelled to head to the local lake when I saw the wonderful cloud formations.

This day Sept. 14th will be forever in my thoughts. That morning we had a memorial service for my significant other half Harry who had passed away June 4th after having a strong heart attack. He was a veteran serving in the Marines during the Vietnam war, and I wanted to give him a nice tribute which was handled by the American Legion, after we got his bronze veterans plaque set.

I have not shared this with you earlier, as I have been trying to keep things as normal as possible, but now I'm thinking this might be a much needed thing to do, as there does not seem to be a normal these days.

We were together for 22 years, and he passed away a few days short of his birthday.

I do have more sunset captures from this evening, that I will be sharing at different times.

I hope you enjoy these sunset captures, and thank you for your views, and comments.

I find myself at a loss for words Sandi my dear friend - I offer my condolences and hope you can find a new normal that will give you comfort and joy again. This is a remarkable sunset shot, glorious clouds and the lone flying bird seems somehow apropos. Don't hesitate to contact me if you need a shoulder my dear.

I understand you, Sandi, when I lost some members of my family, I couldn't talk about that for a long time. It looked unreal, unbelievable. I am really sorry for your loss. This is fantastic tribute for him, really magnificent scene. I adore it.

I am very sorry for your beloved, I am young but I know how sad it is when you lose somebody you love. I am still sad about my grandma. But I think you made a wonderful picture in his memory. I love it very much.

My God Sandi, and you never said a word nor did you show it in any way in your postings. Please accept my belated but heartfelt condolences! A nice image as a remembrance. Remembrance you won't need as you will be often thinking of your beloved husband. I hope that time, that healer of all wounds will help you to get over your loss slowly.

I echo Kathy's thoughts in that I too am at a loss for words but admire your strength of spirit to let us all know your sad news. It's strange how we all react differently to grief. When my brother died a few years ago I needed to talk about him to anyone who would listen but I can so understand your reasons for keeping the news to yourself. I am so sorry for your loss and think your picture is a very fitting tribute to your partner.

22 years is just so brief a time to share with someone you love Sandi. I feel so moved inside and sad for your loss. I don't even want to think of parting with the love of my life. You seem to handle it so well. This image of the sunset is a remarkable capture and somehow the bird does seem to signify something of the spirit. Peace to you my friend.

Sandi;

Being a vet I know how keeping things bottled up can fester inside you. I also know how, sometimes, opening yourself and your emotions to others may be uncomfortable. Just be aware that while most of us responding don't know you personally, some of us know enough from your comments on our work and your caring for others to know you are a sensitive and worthwhile person to have in one's circle, to whatever degree. Surely Susanne does. And we empathize with you in your grief for your lost companion. I know I speak for at least some when I wish you only peace, understanding and friendship. And the photo? An excellent memorial to Harry, whose spirit may be soaring in more than one of your images. -Nik
