One more from the evening of Sept. 14th. Yesterday I was at the Tri-lakes game reserve and when I pulled in to this one area, there was a man taking his boat out of the water, and what caught my eye was the little kitty that was hanging out by him.

I asked him if the little feline was his (I did not really think so) and he replied no, and he thought it had been dropped off, and of course it was hungry.

So I headed to the store, bought some bowls, and dry cat food, and headed back.

When I got back there I did not see the kitty anywhere! I started calling it, and walking, and much to my pleasant surprise I spotted it ahead, but as I was approaching it, I scared it and it started to head away from me towards the woods!

I thought man don't go in there, it was threatening rain, and I was some distance from the car, and really did not want to go in the woods.

The little feline ducked under a bush, and I was not certain just where it was, but as I got closer she started meowing. I knelt down, and started talking to her, and she finally came to me.

She followed me back to the car, and I gave her the food, and as I stood there I thought to myself how can I leave her out here in the wilderness, and winter is coming.

I decided to try to put her on my lap, for the drive back to the house. If she was going to get crazy on me I was going to let her go.

She laid against my chest, and we made the drive back to my mom's, and it started to downpour on the way.

I called the vet, they did some blood work on her, she came out negative for feline leukemia, and aids. She is a little female, weighing in at 4.10 lbs. and they figure her to be 4-5 months old, they found some flea dirt on her, and one tick, but overall she is in pretty good shape. She is a light colored tortoise shell.

Not sure of a name yet, and she is out in the garage for now till she gets her shots, and I wanted to see if she would use the litter box, and hooray she did last night!

So it looks like I have a new feline friend, and I'm sure at some time I will get a pic. of her and share it with you. She is so darn cute, and friendly, and what a shame that someone would drop her off to fend for herself, she could have been a meal for many predators.

Sorry for the long winded story, but hope the animal lovers out there enjoyed it.

Thank you for commenting, and I will be catching up on my commenting today. Thanks my friends.

What a lucky cat to have run into you Tigz. You are a good person with a very kind heart.
What a beautiful shot as well. I like the addition of the bird and ducks.
This one has it all.

Beautiful image and story Sandi .
This animal lover loves it ! I am so glad she came to you she knows kindness when she sees it.
I too am amazed at how people dump animals ... turn their backs on them and never give it a second thought . My Father always said to know the real person may attention to how they treat the animals in the world . How true ... how true .
Can't wait to see this lucky girl !

Why not Tigz or Tigger ...? Or Caramel ?! Probably Caramel.
Sorry I got lost within the kitty story. LOL
I even forgot to view the image full size. So I will be back some time later. With new names. It is funny that almost always the best names for our pets are those invented by the others ...

You know SAS it all depends on the one's ambient and body temperatures. When it is cold, better to use the golden tones image, and on the contrary when it is too hot, better use the colder blue hues... My opinion if anyone wanted it ... Eeyore !

You and my wife can not help yourself. You see a little stray and the next thing you know instant cat family. Oh well I have enjoyed them to some degree. At least some are warming up enough to pet them. But if I ever get cat free my baby will just have to let someone else have the pleasure of strays. It was a very interesting story and I enjoyed it so much. I could just visualize it from you story. Hey I like your picture real good Sandi.

Ok now I'll wipe away the tears from your story - my husband always says you cannot trust someone who doesn't like or is not kind to animals. You are a very kind and generous soul Sandi - the image is lovely also.

The story almost took my attention away from the beauty of the photo Sandi.
Does your little rescued friend have a name yet ?
You are a good and kind soul, and kitty is very fortunate you found it.

Miracle ? Lucky? Sunny?(after the sunset)
