The fellow in the kayak was getting instructions from the guy on the bank, as it was his first time kayaking. I took this in early autumn, and both gents were very nice to talk too.
As we brace ourselves in this part of the country for possible record breaking cold temps. I thought this might help warm you up some, and briefly forget about the snow on the ground, and more to come tonight, with that extreme cold blast about to hit.
I'm one to listen to the weatherman even though sometimes they get it wrong, but they say it's going to hit us for sure this time. System snow, and then lake effect snow, and that extreme cold with the lake effect.
I hope everyone stays safe during this time, and please remember your pets, they will not be able to tolerate it either, and will need your help if they are outside.

People are like cameras--sometimes they lose focus.
I see in internet that some places in Northern U.S. has -50°C !!!! and quite a few death cases due to snow storm. What is happening to the earth? Good reminder of the arm days Sandi. Nice capture.

Very nice capture I love the circle of blue light around the canoe that being formed by the ripples in the water.Plus the detail and sunlight is stunning plus great depth of field to and nice composition too.I hope you told him to turn right with that fallen tree in the way and that tree add a nice feel to this capture as well.

Wonderful capture Sandi - it does look nice and warm. I just got back home - had not been out since early Tuesday morning. By the time we got home from the grocery we were having freezing rain and sleet. When I checked online they have issued a winter storming warning for our area for 5-10 inches of snow with blizzard-like conditions due to 35mph winds. Whew!! Then the -20 temps come in. I may emerge next Wednesday!! LOL

This photo is just what the doctor ordered for the cold temps you are experiencing. When the weather forecaster simply describes the temps as "really, really, really cold," you know it's serious weather. Stay warm and safe, Sandi.

Sandi, I got a very bad cold and are slowly feeling better now.
