I paid a visit to Stotts garden recently, it is a private residence with a little over 2 acres of flowering trees, and flowers.

During my visit I talked to the land owners daughter Deb, due to her mom's failing health, and problems with people being rude, and uncaring of their property, this will be the last year it's open to the public.

Her mom loved visiting with people, and that was the main reason Deb allowed the public to visit, (but I knew that Deb was not a big fan of this, but because of her mom, she put up with it).

Her mom's health, and people letting their children run amok, bringing their dogs, and complaining that they would not allow them to enter the house to use the bathroom, was enough reason for her to make this decision.

She told me that one gentlemen even published some pics. of their garden in a local paper, and gave their address without their permission, he has since apologized.

So I will continue to enjoy this lovely place this year, and then call it quits. My guess is she will have some problem putting an end to the visits.

Thank you for commenting.

Sandi - It is too bad that some people's rudeness results in many others not being able to enjoy the beauty of the garden. You captured this sun-basked bright yellow tulip nicely. ~Thad

Sandi, excellent picture today.

I was saddened to read your narrative and learn that the uncivilized have won another round. Our society is plagued by having far too many of these "it is all about me" people. I do not have anything to offer as a cure for it other than a persistent wish that people would learn and accept that there are things more important in life than themselves.

Maybe Deb could over "memberships" to people like you who are respectful of her property and who will enjoy and appreciate her garden.

It is a shame that people cannot appreciate what is offered to them and behave accordingly. Wonderful capture of this tulip with its lovely dark yellow colour Sandi.

I don't know how people can be like that. Too bad it won't be open to the public anymore. Beautiful yellow tulip and beautiful bokeh, Sandi.

Bringing children running amok is wrong, only good mannered offspring should be allowed and few aristocratic or secret agent dogs. Parents and masters...
Sad story and I feel bad about it.
Love this red thin edge of yellow petal.

That is sad Sandi - I remember the beautiful shots you've published from that garden this being another one. I see way too much of this "it's all about me" attitude everywhere the public is allowed.

What a shame Sandi it always the same others spoiling it for all. This is a lovely capture and the light and shade in the flower head is stunning and great detail plus composition too.Take your photography and let the lady see your work then she might have a change of mind especial if you dedicate them to her. Plus say you are going to call them photo's of the hidden garden it might work??

A wonderful glow to this shot Tigz. I have enjoyed your shot from there for many years. I suspect a friend like you will be allowed to visit any time you want.
Too bad the other folks weren't as respectful as you.

I've have read your narrative with much interest Sandi, but what can I say? Think one can see the same behavior everywhere. I still know that the major part of my education was to have respect for that what was not mine. It didn't matter if this was someones property, way of thinking, capabilities, shortcomings, lifestyle, manners, and so on. But that seems to be very old fashioned now.
One doesn't realize that the situation is spoiled as well for people who know how to behave themselves. When it comes to you, hope that the lady will change her mind, and will allow you to visit her property.

Thanks anyhow for this splendid image.

Regards, Cornelius.

Your eyes see beauty and you convey it nicely for us to see Sandi. My hope is that many will change and come to be more kind. I live daily around such as those and even more cruel at times. I have spoken to some and a few have changed. It gives me hope. Your flower is a beauty and captured so well. I will choose to remember the good.
