A Mute Swan on Center lake, this was taken the same day as my swan fly over post from a few days ago. Took this one mid afternoon, and I was dealing with the sunlight.

I used perfect effects 4 to slightly lighten the eye area, and bill.

I appreciate the comments, thank you.

I've seen plenty of swan photos on this site, some better than others, but this one goes to the top of the "unique" group of captures. The bird's stretched position mimics the pano you've used, the mirroring of the arched neck illustrates the benefits in waiting for that perfect shot, and the lighting, while it might be considered too strong in most situations, places the swan in shadows that add to the mystique of the species itself. Placed in a black field in a ratio that fits a monitor, this would make for a knockout of a wallpaper. Great job. -Nik

If you've ever wanted to make a difference but found it hard to believe that one person could... check out the Kiva Team Caedes discussion thread and discover that anything is possible.

I immediately thought of a 'musical' note!..A crotchet or quaver!

good reflected double!...and the stretch landscape mode works good!

You got a good capture against difficult conditions Sandi. The bird looks graceful and the reflection looks very nice.

Nik's comments made me take a closer look at this swan. His assessment is spot on, as is your photo. Fantastico Sandi!

Lovely clear capture of the Swan Tigz, your photograph really conveys the feeling of a hot bright summers day.

The reflection, for which you are famous, makes this so unique, Tigz. Knik was right on with his analysis.

Very difficult lighting conditions again, Sandi. It's very hard to lighten the dark area's without losing detail, contrast and to prevent that noise will be introduced. I don't know 'perfect effects 4', but you've achieved an optimal result with it. Very good job!

Regards, Cornelius.

SAS dear agent... After Nik's profound and meticulous analysis I could barely add one or two minor observations/connotations like the neck resembling the bridge & its reflection or the lighting which would be perfect for staging the ballet "Swans Lake" .
Now back to work at once [speaking to meself]:)

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Nice pano Sandi. The swan is casting some nice shadows in the water. Nice edit.

It looks like a clock, the curve of the neck and the reflection of it. 9 o'clock or a quarter till 12. Either it may be.
