Yesterday I managed to walk around town, and take pictures of these statues on display that are works of Seward Johnson. I have posted two previous postings of his sculptures, "Down to Earth, and "The Jogger". This will be an ongoing series of his works, but I probably will space them out some.

The detail of his works is amazing, I must say. I used the Canon 40D with the 40mm lens. I almost used my 17/70 sigma, but I'm so pleased with the sharpness that this little pancake lens brings, so used it instead.

Thank you for your comments.

The artist knows where craftsmanship stands for for.

Interesting and well composed subjects, Sandi. It's minor, but you do have a slight Left tilt, and it shows on both vertical and horizontal bricks. :-)

I have to say the 40mm pancake takes some impressive sharp pictures. For real to life reproduction it is a handy lens to have. You can get about a foot from your subject and focus sharp is a real plus with this lens so with your camera's crop factor it should make a descent close up lens. You can get in tight on those flowers. This image is a good example of the lens sharpness Sandi.

If there are any pancakes left I wouldn't mind having some. I even have my own special blend of maple syrup.
Is this your subtle way of telling us to all go fly a kite?
A nice capture of the statues, Sandi. Good details and colours in the image.
