I was totally in awe of the speedy reaction of this Praying Mantis when it caught it's prey. I witnessed it catching two meals. It was so quick, and amazing to see, and a first for me.

Thank you for the views, and comments.

Sandi, if this one was taken two weeks later it would have been its Christmas dinner, lol.

You've done a perfect job my friend by providing us this excellent macro!

He was so well camouflaged, the bee probably thought he was a leaf. Excellent capture Sandi.

Amazing & outstanding capture, Sandi. The mantis looks like it is devouring its meal quickly ... a bee pehaps. Nice detail as you caught it in action.

That mantis is really a loveable sort. Its giving that other bug a big hug. I guess it will invite it to dinner. Captured at that right moment Sandi.

Great Macro! Mantis's don't play, and are very good at getting their prey.

Amazing insects. I had one as a pet in Japan and yeah, they move up so slowly they almost appear to not move at all, then BAM!, the prey is nailed. We would take him out of his cage and get him to dance as we moved our fingers back and forth in front of him. He had no fear of us. My detachment kept ours (green just like this one) well fed until it was time to leave for the next duty station. When we did we released him back to the field where he was found.
