I spent the day at the Trail Creek Agility Trials, and took over 500 shots. I tried the Canon 40D and the Nikon D3000, the 40D was my choice. I tried my canon 70-300 IS USM lens, and the canon 70-200 1.4L lens. I ended up using the 70-200 for about most of the shots. Camera was set on sport mode. Of course most are not all that good, but give me an E for effort. Lol! This was taken with the canon 40D/ 70-200 combo. No flash is allowed of course, ISO 200.

Thank you for your comments.

tigs=^..^=

Just a note I put the lettering in on the ramp, maybe I should have left it out. :)

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Reminds me of my youth and an identical looking dog called Hamish, he was a pet of some family friends and we went for some very long walks. A well captured action shot Tigz (o: although I'd have cloned out the lettering.

I had a collie years ago. He was the best dog! That trial would have been fun to watch. You did a good job here, Sandi. When you are finished with that lens...can I have it, PLEASE? LOL.

Having just come back from dentist, I watch but briefly all the friends activities. Simply had to stop here for longer! :)

Scottish Collies are famous for their intelligence. I know this for sure because my family had a female one. When I came home after a journey she was exited. When I was still wearing my uniform, she jumped so high that she threw off my cap with her nose, and I'm not a small person (1.90 meter), lol.

This fine capture brings back fond memories Sandi. Thanks for that my friend!

Edit: Kathy could be right in her below comment. Shelties are a smaller species of the Scottish Collies. It's hard to determine the size of the depicted dog.

This looks to be the size of the sheltie we had about 40lb. - great capture with all four paws off the ground.

Great looking action photo with outstanding detail and lovely natural colours and I like how the camera gave the dogs coat a soft look as well.

They are easier to get in focus when they are coming right at you Tigz. I can't tell whether this is a full size collie or a Sheltie. They are great dogs.
Action is good.

Have done a shoot at a dog trial and I was impressed how much the dogs enjoyed it. This one is no exception.

Kind of looks like a toasted marshmellow or big puff ball.

I had a collie once. Called her name Micky. Fond memories of such a friendly sweet dog. She would have enjoyed doing this. That is a nice lens. You can get some brighter shots with that one I bet. Good motion capture Sandi.

I saw one a few years back, these dogs are amazing and so fun to watch, they sure love barking throughout the coarse. Excellent action shot girlfriend - well I like the writing on the ramp myself.
