Took the short drive to the Tri-Lakes nature area, and spotted this pair of swans. I have been back a couple of times, and have not seen them again so far.

This was a reach for the canon 70-200mm f4/L lens as they were on the side of the waterway.

Thank you for in advance for commenting.☮

Not only do the swans looks fantastic, but everything else does, too. I love all the tangled branches and the golden grasses...and the turquoise color of the ice. Just a gorgeous shot, Sandi.

While the swans are a reach for your Canon, the background with the fallen and twisted tree limbs makes for an overall pretty scene. Fantastico!

Very much like the setting on my pic on FB - the scary background and lots of violence lurking in the bushes...
"Them swans are beasts, don't we know something, Boris?" - sad SAM

They are floating in a beautiful setting Sandi - too bad they had their backs to You. It is a terrific shot though.

This is a very lovely scene with those brown plants and the dark tree limbs and the two swans. The darkness of the background makes it look even prettier and the swans are more conspicuous due to that.

Looks a bit like a painting Sandi with the deep woods and the swans in front - lovely, moody image.

There are lots of swans near me SAS...somehow the wooded background and earthy colors makes for more contrast and moodiness than just the swans and open blue water that I see...good work on this one.

The golden grass and the dark trees makes for a perfect backdrop for your Swans afloat, Tigz.
Makes me think of a Root Beer afloat. :)

i do like the elements you had to work with here.. & the colors. your composition is great for the distance you had to shoot from, i love that twisted up stump to the right..it really adds to the interest in the shot. swans are so beauiful and graceful yet another bird hard to get close to unless you wait around. i really enjoyed this one! its got a lot to look at if one takes the time. would make a great one to work into a painting look i think

I agree with Lyn on this...and I concur with everyone else... the background is a beauty even without the swans but the swans are a real bonus. Good one Pat.
