This mallard seemed content to be by himself, and did not seem to be bothered by me.

Thank you for commenting, as always I appreciate it.

Neat pic and perfectly sized for my screen 1920 * 1080 by the way! In fact anything long and narrow including panoramas fit ! LOL
Finished work this morning 8 hours ago, slept a little, awaiting a courier mail bringing Boris treats now LOL
No courier mail delivers my treats - they have to be carried up onto the 3rd floor by the undersigned ! LOL
I know something about a need of being alone for a while! Sweet duckie.

I like the simplicity of the duck in all that grass. Brilliant colors and detail, along with perfect placement of the duck in the frame. WTG Sandi.

Ducks always seem to be smiling, so it's hard to tell what is going on with them. It sure does look content in the grass. Beautiful shot, Sandi.

I think he is rather disappointed because he has not fond mate. In his present state he will ignore you. Good one of him surrounded by grass.

Referring Raj's comment above: it can be possible that it hasn't found a mate. An other option is that it's a divorced one, after having quarrels with its wife about raising up the duckies, lol.
A beautiful loner Sandi!

You can see he's watching you out of the corner of his eye - it's turned slightly in the direction of the camera - he's a very handsome fellow Sandi and nicely captured.

This is a perfect example to include extra space in an image such as this where the subject is staring off into the distance.

Beautiful mallard Sandi and yes he looks quite content to sit and watch the world go by. You got a great capture of him.
