Yesterday I spent mid afternoon to late at a preserve my friend Brenda told me about. She is the one that raises monarchs. and lives only a few miles from this place, so I wonder if this could have been one that she released earlier?
She is trying to keep count of how many she has (70) and how many are males / females, but she is having a hard time keeping up. I believe from what she told me that this one would be a female.
Took this one with my trusty 40D, and 70-300 IS USM lens combo. I now know why I semi retired the t3i, I just can't depend on it, so now it is retired.I tried it again yesterday, and I just prefer the results the 40D gives me.

Nice bokeh Sandi and nicely captured. I know of someone else with a t3i who's had nothing but problems so maybe there's a glitch in all of that model.

Gorgeous detail and close up and really like the way you've given him room to fly off with it being offset. Such beautiful detail and like the softness of the background really bring the lovely butterfly
