I took this one today with the new Nikon, using the Nikkor 70-300 VR lens under gray skies, and cold weather.

focal length 280mm (f/stop 5.6) and shot through wire fencing. ISO 1000, WB auto. I made some slight adjustments in the Nikon software, and the a little more in Corel Paintshop Pro X6. I did not do any noise removal.

I appreciate your comments, and want to say thank you in advance.

Wow, Sandi, this is an amazing photograph of this handsome fella. You are kicking it with you camera equipment.

I can think of no better place to experiment with the new Nikon, Sandi. I love the expression in this guy's face. Well done.

Super shot through the fencing Sandi. Don't see any trace of the fence. Sharp details and good composition.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

Sandi, although the vibration reduction (VR) technology was undoubtedly helpful to you, one must have steady hands too, to make a capture, taken with a FL of 280mm, without blur.

Beautiful photograph! Perfectly done!

This makes me think of our late friend John-The Lion of OZ Tigz. He would have loved it. Great job blurring out the fence and your Nikon won't give you much noise problem.
