Here is another attempt at this kind of shot, taken yesterday taking Mr C', and Kathy's advice to use the WB setting cloudy on the Nikon D750, with the Nikon 17-40mm 2.8 lens.
Shot in RAW,AF- area mode dynamic, Aperture F/7.1, Metering-Highlighted weighted, ISO 500, WB cloudy, sharpening 3.00,clarity +1.00, picture control-standard.
I want to thank you in advance for your comments,and any help you might have to offer.

The low clouds couldn't look any better than this Sandi. Also not the slightest trace of any noise in the blue sky. Very nice!

Sandi, I don't like to be pedantic, but I give you straight forward my opinion: the by you chosen settings has brought the best out of this scene.
The result is a beautiful picture with some dramatic clouds. My compliments, my friend!
