This fella is named Hoss, and is a Savannah cat. He has a safe home at Black Pine, which is my second favorite place to visit, and much closer to home than EFRC.

Here is some information on Hoss.

Hoss" (pictured) is an adult male Savannah cat that was originally purchased from a private breeder. When his new owner failed to properly quarantine the young cat, choosing instead to expose him to many people and circumstances, the cat became ill. Because the owner then failed to provide veterinary care, an upper respiratory infection left Hoss with permanent damage to his sinuses. Doctors agreed surgery would not likely correct the problem. With much heartache, debate, and expense, the cat was ultimately re-homed three more times before an employee of a veterinary clinic sought out permanent refuge at Black Pine in 2012. Hoss was deemed too "messy" for any family household due to chronic runny nose and routine (and messy) sneezes.

Savannah cats can weigh 15 to 30 pounds. Finding a veterinarian willing to see and treat a Savannah can also be a challenge. And perhaps the most important thing to consider is what, if things don't work out, will happen to a pet Savannah if things don't work out. Sanctuaries, including Black Pine, are often overwhelmed with requests for help and may not have a vacancy when one is needed.

I focused through the fencing, and used the new camera.

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

He's beautiful Sandi - love the spotted fur. I'm glad he finally found a place to be cared for properly.

It is like there was no fencing at all for you Tigz. You are becoming a master fence remover.
I had not heard of a Savannah cat. Sad story but great shot.

Poor Hoss. There is a domestic cat breed derived from the Savannah. Cats have to be 4 generations removed to be sold as pets. Great capture.

A very lovely cat Sandi and I'm sorry to hear of it's predicament with the sinus. I greatly feel for it having those sinus issues a good bit of the time. My nose doesn't run but it tends to stop up sometimes...a great bummer when trying to sleep. That was a very good pose you captured.
