Today I did something totally different. A photographer friend of mine invited me to join her today to visit, and get some lessons on photography done in a studio.

Josef invited her to come to his studio in South Bend, and he shared his time, and lighting equipment so that we could give this a try. I had a blast, something totally different, and now I have some homework to do, need to learn some more about the Nikon. He was trying to show us how to get those great out of camera shots, and that is where my homework lies. I did more editing on this one, and it was shot in RAW mode. This young lady went with us, and was one of our models.

I do have permission to post some of those shots I took today.

Thank you for commenting.

This looks like a professional portrait. You are a natural, Sandi. I'm afraid to start dabbling in studio work as I'm certain that I would get hooked and subsequently invest heavily in gear. Have fun as you explore this new avenue in photography.

A perfect shot of the young lady Sandi. The lighting and clarity are spot on. I tried raw for sometime and now use mostly JPG fine. It is almost as good and quicker.

Sandi, think you know that all my shots are taken in RAW (by Nikon called: NEF) because to me it's the only way to achieve the best possible result.
When I saw this portrait, I saw a similar result of what I just have said above, in combination with the use of professional equipment and help from a probably professional photographer too.
This couldn't be done any better my friend. My compliments.

Studio photography can be rewarding and a royal pain all in one. It's obviously about getting the right expression and vibe and also the right lighting angle. Good job!
