One more from my recent visit to Black Pine. Next time I use the 200mm for this type of shooting, I need to make some slight camera adj. Since at 2.8 it wants to blur,(which is good for shooting through the fence), but also blurs the animals features within a certain range, I will take it up a notch or two, and then make a few other adj. accordingly.

I appreciate the comments, thank you.

If Sam should see this I want to dedicate this one to her, and SAAB.

So beautiful and misunderstood, it's a shame that they were almost hunted to extinction at one point.
Awesome work Tig!!

Sandi, if SAAB will see this splendid 'portrait' of an 'original ancestor', he will probably bark all night long, causing a 'nervous breakdown' to our friend SAM, lol.

Perfectly done again, my friend!

Excellent details Sandi - I see blur in the background appropriately but the foreground is spot-on.

This wolf is sharp as a tack, though both foreground and background are slightly out of focus. But at f2.8 your Depth of Field will always be shallow and vary with the Lens you use.

The focus is where it needs to be Tigz. The face of the wolf is extremely good.
Great post.

You did get a sharp shot through the fence Sandi. The bokeh is good too. A good looking wolf and a nice capture of him.

Sandi - A nice capture, especially with the f/2.8 challenges. Can your camera handle a higher ISO the allow a different f-stop / shutter speed combination without introducing much noise?

Looks pretty well focused to me. You want f2.8 to blur the background. If you want the animals features to be sharper. Use spot metering and then aim the spot halfway up his nose.

I don't see anything wrong about focus and depth of field in this photo Sandi. That's a great shot.
