Here is yet another one from the Monarch release. I'm curious what your thoughts are on this one. I think the sharp focus on the Monarch, and softer focus on the girl works on this one. All constructive comments are welcome, thank you.

I thought I would share a a song with you tigs=^..^=

I agree with your assessment of the dof for this photo, Sandi. The focal point of the image is the newly emerged Monarch. Seeing it perched on the young girl's hand in sharp focus emphasizes that. The girl's facial expression, with her eyes on the butterfly, while blurred, subtly draws the eye back to the Monarch. Very well done!

Another lovely sot of the newborn Monarch doing its first landing. Very nice capture Sandi.

First of all, Tigs, we don't have the same taste in music.

The soft focus on the little girl is perfect. DOF couldn't have been better. I rarely look at previous comments; so perhaps there's plenty of overlap, but there's only so much that can be said about your shots. You give us little to critique.

I do like Raj's comment about the "nice sot". As far as I know, I have not yet posted nice "shot" using an "I" instead of the "O", but time and poor typing skills will catch up with me one of these days.

I will try to post a link to Mozart's Requiem in my next posting.

I agree with you, Sandi. The sOftness (gotta watch my O's and I's) of the girl adds to her wonderous feeling of holding a Monarch on her finger. Well done.

---I think the sharp focus on the Monarch, and softer focus on the girl works on this one.---

Sandi, to me your thoughts are right. All the attention goes now to the Monarch because of the well chosen bokeh with the girl.
If I was 50 years younger and this charming girl was 10 years older, think I could have had a quite different opinion. Please don't consider this as 'wishful thinking', as the reality can't be changed, LOL!!!
Very good work again, my friend!

You're spot-on with your assessment Sandi - the DOF and focus are perfect this way. Nicely done.

These can work either way as I see it and this one with her face not in focus works equally as well. Great photography again Sandi.

Ultimately you could shot the scene like you have and / or with a narrow aperture and have achieved a wide overall focus, both have their own individual merits. (o:

As for this photograph you have executed it well Tigz and the subject is charming, well done!
