And he's peeping around the feeder at you - I also don't see as many as I used to so this is nice to see.

I think he is warning you to leave him alone, he is going to be busy. Great shot.

Great closeup and candid shot! He looks as though he's waiting to eat in private.

"I have finally started seeing the blue jays again, not alot, but for me a little is better than not at all."

Tell that to the other birds around the feeder. Those blue jays are bullies, I tell ya.

... ...

Nice shot, Sandi.

I do have a question for you, and what brought it to mind is that the feeder.. to my eyes and monitor.. seems just ever so slightly sharper. So..

Auto-focus.

Do you take advantage of the Auto Focus Lock (AF-L) function?

That is to say, using the Auto Focus Lock (on the blue jay, in this case) and then recomposing your shot?

Just typing out loud in the above, and in the event that you were unawares and my eyes and monitor are not deceiving me.

That said..

But, of course.. thanks for sharing this one with us.

We have a lot of bluejays were, but they are here for a short time and then travel on. This is a humorous shot with him peeking around the side at you! I didn't know that they liked peanuts.

Too bad he didn't have his crown raised to provide you with that full Blue Jay glamour shot. Still, a spectacular capture, Sandi.

I love the beak full of peanut crumbs.

Purmusic is right. Blue Jays can be serious thugs. That Blue Jay will give the neighbor's cat a run for its money though! lol

Beautiful capture, Sandi. It looks this little bird is cautious before eating.

You have captured a fantastic scene, honestly, I do wonder what this Blue Jay is thinking. Favorite on this.

A hard choice for it: filling an empty stomach or playing 'peek a boo' with you, Sandi.
Perfect timing is this very fine image too, my friend.

A wonderful capture...I have never seen one before, but then again, my bird recognition is virtually non existent!

When the Blue Jays arrive, the feeder is theirs. They are bird bullies. However, they make terrific photos such as this one.
