This caught my attention at the calendar gardens. Does anyone know what it is? :)

I appreciate your comments, and I hope you will try guessing.

No idea Sandi. It is bolted down so that it can't move under pressure. Could be a water connection?

It's a great shot, Tigs. My best guess is that it's a rusty piece of an iron based substance...probably steel. Let's just say it's an old flag holder.

One thing about good photographers is that they see potential photographs where nobody else looks. And a fine shot it is.

This is talent, being able to take this subject matter and to actually make this so appealing. You are gifted. Really like the way this has been placed, and the contrast above the rusty piece and below. Bravo!

Great details in this and I don't have a clue as to it's use.

Sandi, as a retired seaman, I thought of a holder to keep the non-permanent part of a ship's railing in place, but by the absence of a sea, this provision would be useless for the Calendar gardens, ☺.
Your keen eyes, photographic skills and equipment have resulted in intriguing composition/capture however. Very well done again, my friend.

It's a whatchyamacallit, used for thingamajigs. Or possibly a doodad or whatzit. (Shrugs?)

I really like the dark, earthy colors in this image, Sandi. Applauds your skill and imagination to see the beauty in it.

I really like all the texture and colour captured on this thingymabob Sandi.
I have no real idea as to what it is but it looks like could be a handy flagpole holder.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
