Yesterday I paid a visit to my favorite garden, and tried many action shots of the bees.

Here is some info on this one:

lens used Nikkor 105 VR at a focal length of 105mm.

Aperture f/3.2-shutter speed 1/500 s ISO 400

I appreciate your comments, thank you.

You got a good clear shot of the bee and also the crocuses look lovely in the sunlight.

It seems unusual to see a bee out early enough to visit this flower and it makes this photo all the more appealing. Great work Sandi.

Your shooting had fine results. To have increased the speed any farther might have frozen the action more and probably would not have conveyed they wing motion. In likelihood the increase of speed would have resulted in a need for a higher ISO and produced undesirable graininess.

Life's moments are sweet. I just want to capture all that I can of them.

I am no good with settings and numbers - I do try but become confused :)
However, results say it all and this is a real beauty Sandi. Not only the action captured but the composition is perfect.
Love it !

Sandi, I know by own experience that it's extremely difficult to capture a good 'action shot' of a 'bee in flight' because the movement of their wings is faster than the fastest shutter time of most DSLR's (approx. 1/4000'').
Your image shows its dynamics however. In combination with a very proper lighting, your result is beyond any expectation. Very well done, my friend!
