While looking for photo opts with a friend, we spotted this bunny. This was shot at a long distance with the Nikkor 80-400mm lens handheld at 400mm.

I'm posting what would have been my Tuesday post, because I'm leaving early tomorrow with a friend for an all day trip.

I will do my best to comment when I return.

I appreciate your comments, thank you!

Obviously I would have been happier if this had been cropped substantially...more bunny and less grass. However, I am aware that you don't have Richie's collection of $50,000 telescopic lenses that he uses to count the craters on Jupiter's moons; so I'll say that this is a pretty good shot for a handheld at full zoom.

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

Amazing result for a handheld 80-400mm zoom lens, Sandi, the more that it was taken, according to your narrative, at a long distance.
Think that Mr/Mrs. Bunny wasn't even aware at your presence, else it had run away, ☺ ☺ ☺ .

Good one, my friend!

Very good shot considering the distance- Nice details on the bunny too.

I agree with all - an excellent capture handheld at that distance!

The foreground and background are blurred , just focused on the bunny , great work Sandi especially at a distance like that.

Amazing you captured this one free hand so to speak. I kind of like it just the way it is. Gives the perspective of his small stature.

First off, great shot of this cute guy/gal. Second, Dorothy, there's a thing called constructive criticism. You need to understand, you are not the editor of National Geographic and in charge of picking and critiquing the best photos. I take pictures because I enjoy it plain and simple. There are people out there locally who are much better than me at presentation and quality. It's about enjoyment, not who has the more expensive gear or who's photo is more in focus. We are all one big happy family here and no need to stir the pot if the noodles aren't boiling, do please refrain from overly critical posts. Thank you.

You are having the most wonderful time with that new lens. I think some birds on the beach would be some amazing pictures with that glass (just hinting at suggestions). It does some great blurring. The bunny didn't get away from you here Sandi.

Life's moments are sweet. I just want to capture all that I can of them.
