I spent a nice day at the zoo with a couple of friends, and had a great Italian lunch, at a place I had not been to before.

I used the Nikon D500 with the Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 lens so I could try to get past the fencing.

I used Luminar for the editing. Please view full screen. I decided I like the darker tones so opted not to lighten it.

I will probably try another version of this or use a different capture with a different way of editing later on.

I appreciate your comments, thank you.

Oh I do like owls and this is a beauty who looks as though he has quite an attitude.
A fine capture of this feathered friend Sandi and I thin yo were right to keep the darker tones.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

He's winking at you Sandi. A flirtatious owl...imagine that. Great clarity and focus.

Wow, this is a cracker! The expression on that owl's face is absolutely perfect... and I like it dark too. A definite fave!

A perfect shot Sandi. You don't need to lighten it any more. After an owl is a night bird. Sharp details on the owl.

Yep, the shorter the f-stop the shorter the focal length and no more pesky wire fencing. With one eye partially open it appears he isn't saying "Whoo?", instead he's saying "Hwhuuuhh?" Either he just woke up or had one too many fermented mice last night.

Progress equals a trashed planet since mankind is too busy altering it. BTW find the classic definition of Caedes here. Enjoy yourself today (o: because you don't know what tomorrow may bring.

One eye open, and the other one half opened/closed (choose one of those, according to your preference, ☺ ) is the ultimate expression for wisdom, Sandi.
Precious shot! Perfectly done (per usual)
