Not much going on at my favorite garden, but this cypress knee Santa caught my eye, and the camera.

I appreciate your comments, thank you.

Santa also looks like a finger, Tigz. Someone is very artistic.
We all know you are.

Neat capture, whoever carved that Santa is quite talented. I can see why it caught your eye, it would have caught mine too. Nice fine.

Is this Santa trying to get in or wanting to get out? ;-) Well done, with controlled reflections from the glass.

A well made "slim" (normally pot bellied) - nice find and capture.

A cute display, Santa a little different from the usual...also like that you included some of the brick texture...good one, SAS.

Apparently I'm the only one who was curious enough to Google "cypress knee" to find that the shape of this santa, tall and skinny with a high, rounded cap, needed very little carving, it being the natural shape of the above ground/water "roots" of the swamp cypress trees. The actual carving was of the the hood edge and the features inside. A good entry for the contest, assisted by your normal crisp focussing.

Clever photograph, Sandi! You've got the warmth of the interior tree, hand carved Santa, and red brick against the reflection of the snowy-filled landscape outdoors. Nice pairing of the two!

Very festive Sandi :)
Very interesting about the Santa Shape. I have a long skinny one like that and never knew anything about it.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

That's a brilliant scene! The red of that figure goes well against the green tree.
