Years ago, I had a bird feeder near the porch. It was fun to view the cardinals, titmouse, chickadees, catbirds, mockingbirds, and others regularly appear. Then the neighborhood bully, the blue jay, would appear to scare off the others and have the feeder to itself. But then, the gang of starlings would appear - they always moved in large numbers. They ate seed like pigs, moving quickly, wings a flutter, with seed flying, more of it landing on the surrounding ground than was left in the feeder.

It looks really great Tigz. They are a beautiful bird for being so dirty and destructive. I like the presentation very much. I might have cloned out the dark areas above its head and to the left of the limb.
I think your photograph is spectacular! Perfect focus on the bird, revealing an abundance of stunning detail. You left a visually appealing, not overpowering, blend of branches in the image and created a glowing white background to showcase the star(ling) of your photograph.
And look at that expression that you captured. Wow, intense, focused, and ser-i-ous!
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
