An elegant bird, belied by all the poo they leave on the shore. Somehow they know exactly where they're safe from human predation and hang out in droves, like the South Dakota capitol grounds. In Pierre, Canadian Geese outnumber humans about 30 to 1 (according to my sister, who lives in the smallest state capital in the country).
