A baby Kookaburra, He still has his baby feathers on the chest but has all his flight feathers and can fly quite well. He is quite entertaining when landing though. He isn't really lost. I imitated his parents "come here" call and was able to entice him to come within 2 metres of me.

What a great capture Robert! I remember a song we used to sing in Girl Scouts...it was about "Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree, eating all the gum drops he can see, laugh Kookaburra, laugh Kookaburra, save some there for me"!
