This is a Wedge Tail Eagle, Australia’s largest bird of prey. Their wing span can exceed 2 metres and they can weigh over five kilograms, though I don’t know how big this one is because I had the camera glued to my eye while he was in view. Enjoy

these are magnificent birds - I remember them well from my last trip to the Northern Territories. excellent capture. the USM lines are a little heavy around the bird but not overly so. makes a great overall image on the desktop.

Wow, what a great capture. I am glad the camera was glued to your eye :). I love birds & since being a member here, I can see birds that I never would have had a chance to see and I see them thru the eye of my freinds. What a wonderful gift. This capture is truly stating 'aerial supremacy'! Well done Robert. Thank you :~)

Interesting perspective, it looks as if you have photographed him from above? It's a shame the details aren't a bit crisper, it would have scored higher from me if they were, but that's probably not easy when he's moving around...

Shooting birds in flight is so challenging. This is great. I love the slightly open mouth - ready to eat?

Well my favorite aspect of this is the nicely blended sky capture and the soft blue shade. The bird's wingspan becomes my focus and it's span across the composition is very good. Your title is well realized, respected, and presented.

Awesome! This is the finest bird-in-flight shot I've seen. He's in just the right place on the screen, and I love the muted look of the sky. Wonderful photography!

Amazing capture of this majestic bird. Great detail and composition. I'm sure it wasn't easy to get a great shot like this when they're in flight. My compliments Robert..

Hi Robert
I was quickly scanning though your gallery, and c u have a fine bird collection. This is 1 of your best bird shots simply because it's difficult 2 capture a wild bird of prey in flight so well !!
Don't let this go to your head :)
