Love what you have applied to this image Robert. In my opinion, it could use just a small crop off the bottom to remove some of the bright foreground. Nice composition and perspective:-)
Not sure who John Tucker is...but this scene is breathtaking! Isnt that an interesting front porch....and it has withstood the passages of time...its lovely how you took this shot...applying the softness like this. Its really a very beautiful photo...High marks from me!
I just see this image during the voting both, and I had to stop by and see how was the creator of this. Its a wonderful image, so quiet and peaceful place...wow...is it so old??? wow, amazing!!! good shot!!! my new image "the joy of childhood"
The first 10/10 I have given in a long time. I love the mood you have captured here. The lighting is wonderful and the mist adds SOO much. Wonderful shot, wonderful edit.
I love B & W, it's a great medium for portraying a mood. And I really like what you've done with this, the grass by the porch looks crystalline. Soft, & dreamy & nostalgic. Very well done.

I like how dreamy you make it look. When I see this image, I think "Cool filters!" and "I would to live in that house in the winter time unless there was a serious fire happening inside..."
If I was to recommend one thing to work on, it would be the sharpness. That unreal look you strongly achieved would be enhanced even further by softening up the image. The trees seem out of place because of their sharpness, but the house is good. Leaving the house like it is while softening the rest of the image would further make the house stand out.
Marvelous! Did you have frost to work with here or is that simply the effect? The only thing that would add anything would be a chimney with smoke rising on this cold morning but I don't see one. Lovely nostalgia.
I thought I had commented on this image. It has so much to applaud in it like the composition and the tone. It's mood evokes multiply thoughts in me.Well done my friend from OZ.

I really like this picture, The house is wonderfuly captured and the forest is a real attention grabber. I love how it fades off into the distance. My only problem is tghe foreground, the grass is glared out of the photo to create a white dead area with clumps of grass poking out. Despite that it is an amizing picture that I really like. Cheers!
how do you do that blown out effect? which PS tool do you use, i'd be very interested in trying it, you use it very effectively here, which really adds to the interesting pallete of this pic
something out of a dream indeed!^^ really love what you did with this shot. the colors tones are really well chosen and the soft light and contrast really give a great sense of surreal. as always this is gorgeous Trisb^^
this said 'country Australia' to me straight up, i had to see if i was right, i was! :) i still don't know who John Tucker was, but he lived in a good spot! you've made a lovely pic out of this, well done..
What a marvellous image...it reminds me so much of an old cottage my Grandparents once had...love the soft dreamy effect...it really adds to the mood and nostalgia...don't know how I ever missed this before but glad to see it now and saving to favs...great work.:Pat.
I only just now saw this....{where have I been?} :)
This is so perfect, the way you captured it. Reminds me of an aunt and uncles house very far out in the country / had to stay there a week or so as a child. Very isolated.
Great shot! I love these kinds of photos....pictures of nature, and things such as this old house. Makes me think of a painting...probably the softness of the photo. Nice work.
Interesting. I have some waterfront property in AR and I have often thought of building this style house on it...something efficient, not large but comfy. This fits. Boy, love that diffuse glow filter. That is awesome. I agree with the commentator that suggested cropping off some of the forefront. There is too much of it. It tries to steal the show when you first view the photo. None the less, this is a beautiful, lovely composition.
