I spent two hours in a hide trying to photograph one of these Sacred Kingfishers without success. When I got back to the car for a cuppa this one was perched just 10 metres away. Maybe he took pity on me :-)
Brilliant Capture Robert,....That Kingfisher has beautiful colourings!....I know just how hard it is to photograph one of these.....we have the same problems as you do....Graet Shot......Bob
I learned something new today. I have never seen nor heard of this bird before. How beautiful. You captured him in every detail. Your fortunate you were able to pull this off. I like the background also. The way the green peels off into blue on the right compliments the bird.
Grrrrrrrrreat capture.
Pat
The clarity of this bird is amazing. I will agree with PatAndre with the background but would like to add that the two colors in the bakground are the two colors in the birds feathers, even futhre enhancing this image. Not have the bird dead center is also a nice touch. I even like the border (something I normally don't like to see in pictures). All in all, great job.
excellent pic here on my favorite bird, when i was in boys scouts yesterday, i carved one of these out of a block of wood, because i liked the booger so..er, yesterday was 45 yrs + ago, mercy?
haha...well, what a joke on you but all's well that ends well...a fantastic capture Robert...and a most beautiful bird...straight to my favs and desktop...only thing I will do now is flip it so the icons on the left side of my desktop don't interfere with seeing this lovely specimen...thanks for sharing and congrats on a great capture.:Pat.
Wonderful shot. What a beak that little fellow has--and you have captured it and the rest of him with such clarity. Great lighting and composition as well, of course.
What a brilliant capture Robert! That color on the bird looks so unusual. It reminds me of the ocean water in the caribean. The whole image works so well...great job:-)
"What other reason could there be to get up in the morning except to set ourselves free."
If my comment on your work ever seems to criticise, it does not. It is always so that we may learn together.
A beautiful little fellow. Stunning color and such a long peak. The blurred green background helps bring out his bright blue/green feathers. What a charmer! I like the way you have framed the image. Love your work!
How nice of the bird, lol. Otherwise we would have nothing to admire. Pin sharp quality! the bird stands out perfectly against the green and blue background.
Thanks to the bird to permit this beautiful pic :-) :-)
