Alma Doepel in her new livery. She was used during World War II to deliver explosives throughout the Pacific. She sat so low in the water when fully laden that the enemy radar couldn’t detect her.
Nice try Tris....enemy radar... back in those days? I don't think so. Shame on you. Love the "boat". Great capture of a difficult lighting situation. I love these big sailing ships. they are so nostalgic and majestic. very nice capture. (Enemy radar....walks off shaking her confused head...)

What a beauty of a ship. I appreciate your narrative. Nice hearing the history - I had no idea these type vessels were used during WW II. This shows details of the ship and the lighting does a fine job giving a warm feel. I think I see a flag below the beam. Very interesting subject - Thanks Robert, for this informative image :*>

My sincere apologies for not showing up on the last 12 days since I had a back injury while trekking in a jungle area. Glad to say that I have partially recovered now and able to walk again after few days in hospital.
Magical post!
