I found this charming creature this afternoon. Apparently we have 300 varieties of Dragonflies and Damselflies here in Australia, and I haven’t a clue which one this is.
I do not care about its name, would call it "Queenie", "Cutie" or "Bob." Most important is, that it is a beautiful animal and you caught it really clear and good.
well Robert you disappoint me that you don't know which one it is but luckely I don't know it either!! he looks gorgeous it is a great macro(?) picture Robert
I'm way behind so forgive me for not commening on your individual posts but know that I've looked at all of them since I left. I truly enjoy seeing all of your posts and am always happy to see you at My Gallery. Thanks, Anita
Due to FALL being my busiest season at my store...I rarely am able to view & comment. Someday I will catch up. PLEASE...if there is a particular work that you really want me to view, pm and I will make it a priority! Thanks so much!
I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't and die to find out there is.

Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual.

What a nice title for this little lady. Her wings are so delicate appearing. Excellent details of all the parts of her body - huge eyes, the better to see you :) Very good composing and clarity. You've got it all! She is colorful and shows off her beauty against that lovely green background. Great photography Robert :*>
Such sweet detail you have captured for me Robert! I love seeing the more intricate part of these insects that flit around. The lighting was near perfect for this lady to show us her beautiful wings and lovely eyes. A really cool capture my friend. This one will go into my favorites folder on my hard drive. The grandchildren will love to see it. Thanks for sharing this with me ;=)
A great macro shot Robert. I may have said before but theres a field guide to Australian Dragon and Damselflies due out soon. You'll need it to sort through that lot;o) Lovely colours too.
Cheers,
Steve.

This is a damselfly. The main difference between a damselfly and a dragonfly is the damselfly's wings can fold back along it's body when resting. The dragonfly has fixed wings, like a bi-plane, and they can't be folded. Nice shot, by-the-way.
