Believe it or not this is a Unicorn Hunter. Not that we have many Unicorns around here. Mind you I’m no expert on Dragonflies or Unicorns. So if I’m wrong please correct me.
Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

A remarkable shot and interesting subject. Quite a beauty for an insect :) Wonderful details - love the big eye, his colours & those delicate wings. Terrific clarity. It looks like he's posing for you. Thanks Robert, for this fine fellow :)
Great macro here Robert a super shot. Must be a frustrating life for him being there are no Unicorns. Be a pal and go put a horn on a horse and give him reason to live.
I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't and die to find out there is.

Best I've seen in a while Robert. I really like to take those critter's picture but I haven't come across a gorgeous specimen as this one. A really nice job.
Cetainly striped and ready for the hunt. Striking color, contrast, and depth of clarity. Even the background is great. Top notch quality trisbert! Thanks for sharing.
Wow, look at all the comments on your beautiful photo!! What a most wonderful thing to be able to not only see this dragonfly but to capture it thru your photography...its just an amazing picture...look at the colours..And look at how beautifully you were able to show the intricate markings on him..How in the world were you able to get such a beauty? And where? He looks like a fancy helicopter..they ought to paint those things to look like him...Please tell us more about it...and thank you my dear friend for posting such a lovely lovely shot for us to enjoy..Verena
