He was feeding along a lichen-covered wall. I moved close to the wall expecting him to stop before he reached me but he came right up to me then stopped and inspected me just like I inspected him. The distance was less than two metres and I have never seen one sit still for so long before, perhaps he could see his reflection in the lens.

The beer urges me on, the bewitching beer, which sets even a wise man to singing and to laughing gently and rouses him up to dance and brings forth words which were better unspoken. Homer (800 BC - 700 BC), The Odyssey (note: beer substituted for wine)

Every once in awhile you come across a bird who seems to show no fear...it has happened to me as well but unfortunately I did not have a camera with me at the time...that you did was most fortunate as this is a wonderful closeup of this cute little fella'...such a trusting and inquisitive look on his face...great work, Robert.:Pat.

Wow. Maybe he thought his reflection was another of his kind. This is a wonderful bird photo. If only they'd all sit still for their portraits, that would be grand.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

A fine pic. I see the super glue worked for you too. It holds them right there and you can take tons of photos of the little critters. Nice work.

What a lovely willing subject. Wonderful details on this close up - love his sharp eye and soft appearing feathers, but I miss the birdy feet :) He has an intelligent look on his sweet face and knows how to strike a pose. Fantastic image Robert :)

Robert, another fine bird photo. This bird is not indiginous to my area, so I really enjoy such the great close-up look at him. Thanks for sharing.

Another birdie for my favorites folder!! This little guy is cute as cute can be....the bird must have sensed your gentleness and the warm spirit that I know you possess and that is why it came and visited you so willingly. I am glad that you had your camera with you so you could share your adventure with your friend with the rest of us!! Another excellent piece of art from your camera to my eyes. Thank you my friend for sharing this with me ;=)
