He was going to join a pretty female in front of me but muffed the landing so he went around for another try. Wasn’t that lucky for me :-)

Another fine photo, Robert! The detail in the wing span is perfect with the light shining through. Well done!

Lucky for you and lucky for all of us. What a great, sharp capture "on the fly" so to speak. Enjoyed the story of his second attempt...but we didn't hear the ending! Did she say "yes"? Super desktop as well... nice neutral background with great interest in the center.

It must have been 'male jitters' that caused him to miss his landing. lol Lucky for you is right! What a fantastic shot! Isn't he just lovely? He had nothing to worry about but his performance.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Pure quality presentation Robert! Marvelous fella caught in motion. His wing span is beautiful to see, stream lined body and bright eye. His colouring is quite handsome, and I'm sure his chick will dig him. Thanks for sharing this magnificent bird in flight :^>

Robert, you are a master of animal photography. I don't normally comment because you have quite a following, but I have to tell you that this picture is phenomenal. Most photographers would pass this by because of the cloudy day but precisely because of that the lighting is subdued, allowing you to bring out the midrange of brightness levels, getting what almost looks like an x-ray of the layers of feathers and the bone of the far wing. Bravo! It went immediately to my desktop.
