These Crested Grebes spent the morning taking the kids for joyrides while the partner cares for the unhatched eggs. They seem to swap tasks every half hour or so. Enjoy.

Can't say I've ever seen one of these in the wild. Beautiful bird and a splendid capture. Lord, that chick IS adorable. Nice work Robert ... really a grand shot.
What a terrific capture of this family. The chick looks quite comfy on mama's back - he's adorable! Very interesting subject and fine details. They have a beautifully shaped head and crest. Thanks for sharing more of natures creatures. Great job Robert!
Jolly well done a slightly noisy image Robert but I think you still hit the jackpot old buddy. :o)
Wishing you a splendid new year from someone above you......more tea vicar ?....hic
So you had it tough hey !! A mistreated dog should try to leave a deposit on their masters best carpet, after all it's important to establish who's boss....Happy new year everybody. :o)

Fantastic looking birds. The big ones look like they are protecting the territory from all sides. The little one is so different in appearance and it must be fascinating to see them change into looking like their parents. Great post, Robert.
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.
