This is a second shot of the 1867 bell from Old St Mary's church - they have built a nice copper roofed and stone enclosure to display the old bell. All comments and critiques apprecaited.

I like the capture of the bell, it's beautiful, but I do notice you had some harsh lighting to deal with. =^..^=tigs

In a way, it looks like a wishing well. It sure is a pretty setting and you have taken a really fine shot of it. This should go on the web site you showed us about the history of the church.

Oh crap, Kathy. Now you're in the Caedes Cadre too. How am I ever going to keep up with my comments when all of my friends post two shots a day? You either bought a camera or your Panasonic has decided to work for a while. Thank you for not posting two flower shots.

I see that both Sandi and Joanie pointed out that sunlit sky. White skies drive me nuts. When you figure out how to get rid of them, let me know.

There are three bells at the Mission de San Luis Obispo, but they have them displayed very poorly. I think they're hanging on an industrial I-Beam painted brown. Really looks tacky. I've tried shots of those bells from every angle and have just given up. If I knew how and had a 20 or 30 hours to waste, I could clone out the everything but the bell.

Does that say Titus on that statue in the background? We used to call one of my old bosses Titus, but we spelled it "tight ass" because he never gave raises or bonuses.

I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

Nice composition, Kathy. I love the colors in this shot. I agree with Sandi about the lighting being harsh. It turned out pretty good though.

Lovely old bell and this remind me of the old movie called the Bells of St. Mary with good old Bing Crosby, super movie. Marvelous shot

A nicely composed scene, Kathy. I like the natural framing with the tree. Nice colours, details and textures. I believe you've been informed about the light in the background. Next time try a second exposure adjusted to capture the background colours/details/etc., and then merge the two photo together.

Kathy - Like Pat, I expected Bing Crosby and Ingrid Bergman to stroll into the image. Thad

This is a very poetic image, so as in some way touching, Kathy. Wonderful composition!

Some people have Gurus, I have my camera. Through the cam lenses I have learnt to deeply perceive life, not only to see, but to look at all expressions of nature, becoming able to read the poetry of the flowers, receiving the embrace of the trees and flying above the clouds without wings! - Susie Sun
