Getting an early start on my Friday foofy posting as tomorrow will be a very busy day. The photo I worked with was taken late in the day. The rose was getting a shaft of very harsh light. I didn't like the washout and burn so I've tried playing with it as I really liked this rose. Please give me your blunt opinions. All comments and critiques appreciated.

Interesting post work on this photo, Kathy. Too bad about the lighting. Any way you could tone down the yellow in the petals at least. A slight bit dark to my eyes.

Blunt is my middle name. Not literally.
I sometimes like to play with the artistic settings just to see what I end up with. Most of the time I dump the artistic settings and go back to the original. I wish you had done the same. Whatever you did, there's just too much of it. When the postage stamp size looks better than the full sized version, you don't get an A. The full sized version is so heavily edited that I can't even tell that it was a flower.
Anyway, that's my blunt opinion.

Kathy - I have a (growing) number of photos like this; ones of which the subject is one I really like, but the photo has issues (e.g. I, the photographer came up short). While mucking around with textures and such can help, they don't fully hide the shortcomings. As this is a beautiful rose bloom with a wonderful composition, the lighting is difficult to hide. I wish I had some suggestions for you, Channels may offer some resolution, but, they are a new frontier for me, yet to discover. Thad
