If anyone could identify this flower I would appreciate it. I was at the florist in March and this was with the blooming plants. It had a stick, and like a dummy, I forgot to note what it was. When I was back there again later in the week they were gone and no one could tell me what they were. Someone said maybe Lenten flower but they sounded very unsure. As you can see they are green and get lighter as they open wider like the one on the left. I've tried searching on the internet but have been unsuccessful so far. All comments and critiques appreciated.

You are a collection of atoms that have come to the general agreement that they are you. A unique individual called Kathy, not to be mistaken for any other individuals also called Kathy, Kathleen, Katy, Kate or Winifred. As for what this plant is, I have no idea. But it is a good capture of this unknown beauty.

I think English Rose is correct - Helleborus - often known as Winter Rose.
Possibly Hellebore foetidus, also known as Stinking Helleborus :)

Nice capture of it Kathy !

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

I'm the last person in this hemisphere and perhaps the planet that would know what this flower is. Very unusual coloring. Nicely shot with an excellent DoF and your usual silky detail work. Lovely border to boot.

Kathy - The unmistakable Helleborus, though I'm not sure which variety - wonderful early spring blooms. A very nice close up capture of them. Thad
