Well, after 102F. yesterday and 104F. predicted for today I decided to post the hottest flower in my pending file. This is a sizzling orange ranuncula basking in the strong early morning sun recently. I tried to capture as much detail as possible in the petals despite the rather harsh light. All comments and critiques appreciated.

It was sizzling here, too, Kathy. 103 with a heat index of 118! You are right...this is a sizzling hot shot, too. Just gorgeous.

You did a wonderful job Kathy capturing the details in the sun.
Gorgeous color as well .
Yes the weather is nasty...hot and humid on this side of the lake too. 2nd cutting of hay was baled yesterday now I'd like to see some rain... perhaps that might cool things off a bit for all of us . Stay Cool !!

Gorgeous orange and this is excellent posting. It's been really hot here for Northern Ontario, it would be great if we could get some rain also.

You stay cool and don't over do it outside

First of all I'm wondering what that huge blank gap is in Tig's comment. She's lucky they charge by the letter and not by the inch. Secondly, I have relatives in Metamora, Illinois, where it was 103° and very humid. The high here was 78° with little humidity although we had the usual morning coastal fog which burned off at 10:00 this morning.

I was about 25 comments behind and have commented on about 22 flower shots so far this evening. Yours is the most colorful, has the niftiest border and the best textures. I'll send you $25 if you post something besides a flower.

Oooh what gorgeous orange globes of warmth and sunshine.
Super detail and clarity and the water drops are the finishing touch.
In near freezing weather here this is a delight.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Beautiful fiery colours to match the heat in this capture, Kathy. Nice lighting and details in the photo.
