That is the name of this beautiful lilac that blooms usually in mid-May with very large flower panicles. We have one of these growing outside our condo building and it is so beautifully fragrant each year.
When I grew up in Peoria, we had a lilac bush in the front yard. I don't remember what the flowers looked like (I apparently didn't care for flowers way back then either), but the smell of a rare lilac bush around here brings back of flood of happy memories. I was hoping that this was a "scratch and sniff" photo, but all I did was leave finger print marks all over my monitor.
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
Lovely image and the best border of the day.
