There are more varieties of wildflowers in the aster family than you can shake a stick at. To the best of my research I think this is heath aster. It was growing in the marshy area of the wetlands.

I wouldn't necessarily categorize 600+ (depending on source) species as being more "than you can shake a stick at". Though in your defense you never mentioned the size or weight of the stick. :-) Nice composition of the photo and a lovely capture of the blooms Kathy. Nice clarity and lovely colours in the scene.
