Love this type of bromeliad with a head that resembles a pineapple. I usually don't see them however when the little purple flowers are blooming.

It's nice to see that the snow has melted and the flowers blooming again. LOL. This is a beautiful flower and your photo does it justice. Bravo.

Bromeliad....Sounds like a combination of Bromo Seltzer and Kool-Aid. That might be better than Alka Seltzer! LOL. Another interesting and beautiful shot, Kathy.

To me bromeliade is a singular star belonging to the family of Bromeliades [cf Pleiades], while the dictionary corrects it to "bromides". Never in my life have I seen this beauty.
Thanks and congratulations, dear Kathy.

By checking-out THIS LINK one will find more information about Bromeliaceae. My late wife was an expert in plants and flowers. Once she told me that a bromeliad plant has a kind of tragic life. A bromeliad plant blooms only once, for a period of three to six months. When blooming has ended the plant will die. New plants however will appear at its base.

So Kathy, there's still sufficient time to enjoy the beauty of this flower. We can enjoy it as well, as your very fine image offers us a very good alternative. Thanks for that.

Regards, Cornelius.

A nice close up on this pretty plant, Kathy. Good colours in the photo. You could probably add a little contrast to add some shadows and cut back on the highlighting.
