My post for MM(manic Monday)is this crazy downy woodpecker hanging upside down and pecking away at the tree outside my window. He's been hanging around since fall and I've been trying to get a decent shot of him as he's on the move constantly hopping from branch to branch. He occasionally pecks right side up but definitely prefers this hanging position. I've yet to get a shot of the female but she's out there too. I never would have got this without my new tripod set up in the living room ready to snap at a moments notice through the glass!

Nice wildlife post Kathy, Woodpeckers have incredible shock absorbers between their beak, & skull.

I think their so cool to watch, you did a pretty good job of shooting him through glass, I know how active they are. Maybe you can capture the female for us.

The thing that goes the farthest, towards making life worthwhile, it costs the least and does the most, is just a pleasant smile.
We have one here, Kathy, and it is impossible to get a shot of him. We have not seen the Female just the Male . You did a good job with this guy since they are always on the move .

I always liked those Upside Downy Woodpeckers, Kathy. Their rat-a-tat-tat sounds like an echo. They can circle a limb like a band saw.

I don't recognize this species of flower. :)
A nice capture of the upside down bird, Kathy. Since you have the camera on a tripod, try switching to manual focus and slowly track the bird if and when it moves along the branch.
