This is my entry for the contest. These are old photos from my husbands family - they were in very bad shape when we rescued them and are not even printed on photo stock but just paper. I worked with them and ended up framing and matting them in a triple frame and they now hang in my living room. I photographed each section of the triple individually and then edited them into this collage for my entry. From the left they are my husband's maternal grandparents in their wedding portrait circa 1900. The middle shot is their youngest daughter Betty Jane at 12 in 1934, with an armful of kittens she had rescued. The right shot is Betty Jane at age 15 in 1937 with her Irish setter. Betty Jane was my late mother-in-law, a true animal lover who was always rescuing stray cats. We lost her in 1980.

What a wonderful presentation Kathy, I think it's a wonderful contest entry. You did a super job on this one my friend. Betty Jane sounds like my kind of people. :) Her Irish setter looked so content in this wonderful picture. Tigs♥ =^..^=

I rushed to judgement when you said you rescued them...I thought you meant his family was in bad shape. Amazing what can go through your mind in a split second! LOL. Fantastic entry for the contest, Kathy. Well done.

Emptiness is not nothingness. It is simply the opposite of full of it.

I love these old photos, like a page from one of my Grandma's albums...never knew the people but always enjoy seeing the old-fashioned clothes, hairstyles, vintage look of the photo itself...good luck in the contest, Kathy.
